Montréal, je t'aime - In love with Montreal

See all the photos in this series at Picasa.

Montréal, je t'aime is a series of black and white images of Montreal that I took in the fall of 2006. The series was commissioned by the Intercontinental Montreal Hotel to decorate the lobby of the hotel, 360 rue St-Antoine ouest (map) and Bistro Chez Plume, 363 rue St-Jacques ouest (map). The series was exhibited from 2006 to 2009.

When I took the photographs I tried to capture some of the character of
Montreal without falling into cliché. The series is a blend of traditional and contemporary architecture, new perspectives on iconic structures, and observations of the creative spirit of a vibrant city.

The photographs that previously decorated Bistro Chez Plume were by Gabor Szilasi from his series Panoramas of Montreal.
