Trafalgar Square - Bird's eye view
April 25, 2010
While I was visiting friends in England last year I went to the National Portrait Gallery in London to see an exhibition by the painter Gerhard Richter. I explored the rest of the Gallery as well and eventually found myself on the top floor of the building.
I noticed a spectacular view of Trafalgar Square at the end of a hall, through the windows of the Gallery restaurant. I stepped into the crowded restaurant and quickly snapped two views of the Square.
The two domes in the foreground are part of the National Gallery, which adjoins the National Portrait Gallery. Also in the foreground is Nelson's Column, the centerpiece of Trafalgar Square. In the background are the Houses of Parliament, with their three iconic towers: Big Ben, the Central Tower and Victoria Tower.
Trafalgar Square is part of a group photography exhibition at Ça décoiffe, a barber shop on Papineau Avenue. The theme of this month's show is Bird's eye view.
You're invited to the opening of the exhibition on April 28, 2010 at 9:00 PM. Ça décoiffe is located at 4526 Papineau Avenue (map) next to La Tulipe.
If you can't make the opening, feel free to drop into the barber shop to view Trafalgar Square and the photographs of the other participants in the show. The exhibition runs until May 26, 2010.
The barber shop is open Thursday (9:00-6:00), Friday (12:00-8:00), Saturday (9:00-4:00), Sunday (10:00-5:00) and Monday (9:00-6:00).
