Art by numbers - 2Fik & Quat'sous

My friend 2Fik had an opening this evening at Place des Arts, Montreal's premier cultural complex. He's showing four of his photomontages at a new exhibition space that was inaugurated today in the newly redesigned lobby of Place des Arts. I photographed him in conversation with Pierre Chaumont, an artist who divides his time between Montreal and Tokyo.

The second photograph shows le Mur porteur, or the Supporting Wall, of the Théâtre de Quat'sous. The theater recently reopened after a complete rebuild. Le Mur porteur is visible evidence of the theater's ongoing fundraising campaign. When you donate $200 to the theater, you can have your name engraved on the exterior wall. The people whose names appear in this photograph are director Brigitte Haentjens, actor Anne-Marie Cadieux, Romane Le Brec'h, Anouk Le Brec'h, Pierre Salvail, producer André Monette and singer-songwriter Yann Perreau.
