2Fik as Alice at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts
2Fik is a multidisciplinary artist who explores issues of gender, sexuality and identity. In my series, 2Fik interprets the personas he has created for many of his works. In each photograph, he is descending the stairs of a prominent element of the landscape of Montreal.
The inspiration for the series is Marcel Duchamp's painting "Nu descendant un escalier n° 2/Nude Descending a Staircase, No. 2." Duchamp himself was influenced by Eadweard Muybridge's photo series "Woman Walking Down Stairs."
